Making the book
How does Story Genie work?
Tell us about your child, add a photo if you want, and our AI writes and illustrates a full story with them as the hero. You preview the whole book free in about 60 seconds. When you love it, we print and ship the hardcover.
Do I need a photo?
No. A photo helps the illustrated hero look like your child, but you can also answer a few quick questions instead. Either way, you see the full preview before you decide.
Can I change the story if I don't like it?
Yes. Regenerate the story, swap the art style, or edit the text as many times as you want during the free preview. You only pay once it reads the way you want.
Who writes and illustrates the books?
Our AI writes the story and renders every illustration. Our team built the app, prints and binds each hardcover in the US, and reads every support and revision message. You choose the style, shape the story, and edit any word. Built by you. Starring them.
Can I put siblings, grandparents, or pets in the book?
Today the story centers on a single hero. You can write the people they love into the words, and we are expanding multi-character support. If a whole-family cast is the priority right now, our comparison pages will point you to the honest pick.
What reading levels do you support?
Three. You pick toddler, early reader, or older child during creation, and the language matches where your child reads today.

How many pages is each book?
24 or more illustrated pages, every one rendered for your child. No two books are alike.
Is it a real hardcover?
Yes. Matte hardcover, heavyweight pages, printed and bound in the US. The kind of book that earns a spot on the shelf, not a printout.
Is it actually good for my kid, or just a novelty?
It is built to do reading work. The personalization is the hook; the payoff is a child excited to read, picking up vocabulary, and meeting a few life lessons along the way. A reading tool dressed up as a story.
Price and ordering
How much does a book cost?
$49.99, all-in. That is the hardcover printed and shipped within the US, with no tier upsells and no surprise checkout fees.
Is shipping really included?
Yes, US shipping is included in the $49.99. Many other personalized-book brands show a lower sticker price, then add shipping at checkout.
Do I pay before I see the book?
No. The full-story preview is free. You pay only when you have read it and want the printed hardcover.
Shipping and returns
How long does shipping take?
We print your book within 48 hours of approval. Standard US shipping then takes 5 to 7 business days.
Where do you ship?
The United States today. We are working toward more regions.
What if my book arrives damaged?
We replace it. If anything is wrong with the printed book, email our team and a real person will make it right.
Can I cancel after I order?
Yes. You have 24 hours after ordering to cancel for a full refund, before the book enters the print queue.
Privacy and safety
Is my child's photo private?
Yes. Your photo is used once to guide the illustrated hero, then deleted from our servers within 30 days. We never train AI on it, and we never share it with third parties.
Do you use our data to train AI?
No. Your photo and your child's details are not used to train AI models. Privacy is the default here, not a setting you have to find.
Is this safe for kids?
Yes. The story is built for children and reviewed before printing. You see every word in the free preview, so nothing reaches your child that you have not read first.
