Data Deletion and Parent Rights – Story Genie Books

Story Genie AI LLC respects your privacy and complies with U.S. privacy requirements, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you have purchased a personalized book or submitted personalization details for a child, you may request the following:

  • Review of the child personalization information we have stored
  • Correction of inaccurate information
  • Partial or full deletion of personalization details
  • Withdrawal of consent for future collection or use
  • Deletion of your account and personal data

These rights may only be exercised by an account holder or verified parent/guardian. We verify each request to protect privacy.

Please include:

  • Your account or order email
  • The name used for personalization (if applicable)
  • Type of request:
    • Review
    • Correction
    • Partial or full deletion
    • Withdraw consent
    • Delete my account

We may request reasonable verification before completing the request. A telephone or video call can be arranged upon written request when additional verification or support is needed.

What We Delete

Upon verified request, we can delete:

  • Child personalization details (name, traits, age, description)
  • Optional uploaded photos
  • Support or service communication history, if applicable
  • Stored design files, if no longer needed

Once deletion is complete, personalization details cannot be recovered.

What We May Retain

We may retain limited information when required for:

  • Financial recordkeeping
  • Transaction history
  • Legal or accounting obligations
  • Fraud prevention or platform security

Retained information is minimal and not used for personalization, advertising, or any unrelated purpose.

Timing

We process verified requests promptly.

You will receive a written confirmation once the request is complete.

Reprints After Deletion

If you request full deletion, future reprints will not be possible unless new personalization details are provided.

Withdrawing Consent

You may withdraw parental consent for future collection or use of personalization information at any time.

Withdrawal does not require deletion of past financial records that we are legally required to retain.

Security

We protect personal information with industry-standard safeguards: encryption at rest and in transit, role-based internal access, PCI-DSS-compliant payment processing, and no public download links or anonymous access to customer- uploaded content. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
